Growing together to employ every heart!
We are an imperfect family, growing with ministries that are sharing something beautiful; God's love. We run an online thrift business called Restore SB which provides a fun way for us to give to amazing ministries. Our kids are very involved so expect the unexpected!
In addition to investing funds, we also get to serve with these dear friends locally (CA) and in Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Uganda. Restore SB's ultimate outcome is to be used as a vessel to employ hearts around the world!
We hope we get to meet your family too, and that you will be in the business of restoring something beautiful WITH us!
I (Kim) was raised in a home that taught me to love God and others, even if it meant getting my hands dirty! Over time I realized that this is why I have a deep passion in my heart to give and serve. As I grow closer to God and His family, He is making a way for me to use the things I love to love others: Teaching, Giving, and Growing Together!
I have had the great honor of working with my friends, Pastor Thomas and the Mambure's who I've known for over a decade. I originally met all of them while working for an incredible international organization back in Chicagoland. When I left the company after moving to Cali my relationship with the leaders continued to grow. We care deeply for each other, our families, and our calling to develop 'just relationships' on earth. We also get to work with Lily Kelly Ministries right here in our own backyard. I have grown so much personally and look forward to serving WITH my local community for many years to come!
The most foundational way we work together is by having a regular conversation about what is going on in each other's hearts, lives, and ministries. This typically results in creative programming ideas based on real community needs. Sometimes these conversations lead to new efforts and other times we brainstorm ways of expanding existing efforts. No matter what we do it starts with the heart.
Restore SB is a sole proprietorship business that has two main facets: ministry and business.
Ministry: I'm investing my time, two Master's degrees, and eighteen years of program development experience into my work with friends and community leaders. In addition to vision and program development, I write program proposals and sometimes facilitate crowdfunding campaigns to support their organizations. I also love creating relevant teaching tools such as 'Dirt to Use' (D-U) & the made book. One-on-one collaboration is available to leaders who would like to embed D-U principles into their program and staff development goals. Local consult/volunteering can also include: Growing with ministry leaders to develop thriving relationships, systems, and policies within their organizations.
Business: For several years now our family has been accepting item donations and selling them via online thrift apps such as Facebook Marketplace. This has allowed us to invest in the leaders we work with and the specific efforts they are carrying out in their communities. We believe that in time God will help us grow these at-home efforts so that Restore SB can become a physical workplace example of how fun and successful it is to work differently together and employ every heart!
